Just In: EHS Audit Protocol Germany 2020

STP ComplianceEHS (STP) announces the release of its recently updated EHS audit protocol for Germany. This audit protocol, which covers relevant national EHS requirements, was previously updated in March 2018. The regulatory date for the current release is March 2020.

ONTARIO OIL PETROLEUM AND REFINING – ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH AND SAFETY
AUDIT PROTOCOL

This protocol focuses on those regulatory requirements applicable to the “downstream” petroleum sector (refining and petrochemical activities). Requirements applicable to “upstream” activities (exploration, drilling and production) are not within the scope of this protocol. Note that the general EHS requirements in the standard Ontario protocol also apply to petroleum activities, unless specified otherwise.

OSHA issues new post –
COVID back-to-work guidance

On June 18, 2020, the U.S. Occupational Safety and Hea lth Administration (OSHA) issued new guidance to assist businesses deemed “non-essential” during the COVID-19 pandemic as they reopen their workplaces. OSHA’s new “Guidance on Returning to Work” sets forth a number of basic principles that OSHA recommends guide employer actions, including specific examples. The document also reminds readers that responsibilities always apply under OSHA’s Employer’s General Duty Clause, references a number of existing OSHA standards that apply to re-opening activities and reopened workplaces, and identifies other sources of guidance and requirements.
